A new concept was sought that could replace the current bus stop system from the 1970s. The new solution should be able to accommodate the existing analogue information carriers and integrate new digital information systems. As part of the competition, a demanding catalog of criteria had to be met in order to cover the different needs of the various means of transport in the city, in the agglomeration and in rural areas. The concept was to be extremely modular in order to be able to react flexibly to new requirements that are still unknown today. Questions about accessibility, sustainable management and the longevity of the solution were important success criteria.

A prototype of has been tested for its practical suitability in Dübendorf since October 2021. The experiences of employees and feedback from passengers were systematically recorded and evaluated. The future-oriented and customer-friendly concept with its innovative and sustainable elements ultimately convinced the jury.

BURRI AG is also convinced of the results of the cooperation: «Nose has stood for high-quality, intelligent, contemporary and functional design for many years and can look back on many years of experience in the design of vehicles and facilities for public transport. The jointly developed stele The modular system clearly shows that two partners were at work here who have mastered the subject from the ground up and have taken everything into account, from the overall concept to the finest design details, for high-quality, life cycle-optimized and durable facilities at stops that can be used in all situations important is.»

The result is now being evaluated by the ZVV and its transport companies in implementation scenarios.
