Competitive Advantage Through Big Data: Global Benchmarking Tool for Cotton Spinning Mills
At the International Textile Machinery Association (ITMA) fair 2023 in Milan, Cotton Council International introduced the Mill Performance Index™ – a groundbreaking tool that benchmarks the performance of spinning mills based on global standards.
The innovative tool anonymously collects data from participating mills and provides performance insights in five key areas: material yield, machine productivity, labor productivity, efficiency management, and energy management. This enables spinning mills to gain valuable insights into how they can improve their performance compared to others.
Before its official launch, the tool underwent a successful pilot phase involving 47 spinning mills from 13 countries. The results were impressive: increased productivity, improved yield across various yarn types, and enhanced machine running conditions.
The Mill Performance Index™ is currently available to spinning mills on an invitation basis only.
