First-class Tram Comfort Sets New Standards in and around Basel
Since early September 2024, the new TINA trams from Stadler Rail have been in operation on the Baselland Transport AG (BLT) network. Nose has created a modern, high-quality, and inviting design that perfectly combines functionality and aesthetics.

The trams from Stadler Rail offer unparalleled passenger comfort. The vehicle has a spacious interior, large panoramic windows, and comfortable upholstered wooden seats. It is fully low-floor and barrier-free, and the 96 seats offer ample leg and knee room. An integrated passenger information system, as well as USB charging ports, 220-volt sockets, and Wi-Fi complete the offering for passengers.

A technical highlight is the bogies specifically designed for the BLT. They ensure a high level of ride comfort even on the tight curves of Basel’s inner city, while also being gentle on wheels and rails.

Frédéric Monard, CEO of BLT, is enthusiastic: «With the passenger comfort of the new trams, our passengers are essentially moving from second to first class.»

The delivery of the 25 new trams will be completed in the course of 2025. They will then be in operation on the entire BLT network, raising the travel experience for passengers to a new level – in Basel-Landschaft, the city of Basel, and in cross-border traffic to Germany and France.
