A Blockbuster Train on the Sepulveda Pass
The Sepulveda Pass is a notorious traffic bottleneck that connects the Westside of Los Angeles with the San Fernando Valley. The ten-lane transportation corridor is among the most congested roads in the USA.
But there is a promising vision! The Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project (STCP) aims to create a modern public transportation connection along this route. Nose has designed a vehicle that lives up to this bold idea. In the exterior design, we combine a futuristic look with technical and economic feasibility. A particularly striking feature is the newly designed headlight graphic, which incorporates the dot pattern of the LA Metro brand. This turns the vehicle’s front into a glowing icon and a true crowd-pleaser. Inside, the concept is characterized by its spaciousness and its pleasant lighting. The color scheme is inspired by David Hockney’s Splash series and reflects the Mediterranean architecture that defines Los Angeles.
Through this blend of functionality and design, the new transportation system has the potential to realize the vision of modern, sustainable mobility in Los Angeles.
